Belgrade, Serbia, May 22, 2019 – Serbia defeated Korea 3-1 (15-25 25-18 25-17 25-14) on Wednesday in their second 2019 FIVB Volleyball Nations League match.
Zoran Terzić, head coach of Serbia: “Well, this one was very different, in fact it was the first time ever we played with this line-up, and most of these girls played their first ever official match for the national team. And it was notable, especially in the first set, when they were too tight, under pressure. But after that, they got better and they became more relaxed. As for tomorrow, I guess the match with Turkey will resemble the one we played yesterday, against the Netherlands.”
Stefano Lavarini, head coach of Korea: “In the first set we took risks, we were brave and we attacked aggressively and we managed to win it. After that, Serbia raised their level of play, and we fell under pressure, but overall I noticed some positive things in our game.”
Emilija Antanasijević, setter in the Serbian team: “I want to congratulate my team on this victory. It was my debut in the national team, and it could be seen at the start of the match, we were all nervous. But after that it got better. I am really glad I played my first official match in Belgrade, and I am proud of it.”
Su Ji Kim, team captain of Korea: “In the first set we managed to do what we talked about but then afterwards we lost focus, I guess. But it was a good experience for us, we have learnt a lot from this match.”
