Bangkok, Thailand, October 21, 2020 – Zhejiang smashed Shanghai 3-0 (25-13, 25-19, 25-21) to clinch three consecutive wins in the Chinese Men’s Volleyball Championship in Zhangzhou, xinhuanet.com reported on its news release on Wednesday.

Fielding five young bench players, Shanghai’s head coach Ren Qi praised his team despite the loss. “Zhejiang are a better team considering height, strength and tactics, but my players were not nervous and very concentrated in the game. It was a good opportunity for them to learn and improve.”

Defending champion Jiangsu brushed aside Henan 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-21) to get their first victory of the tournament.

“The Jiangsu side were more mature. We had some errors and didn’t counterattack well,” said Henan player Li Yuanbo.

Elsewhere, Tianjin beat Yunnan 3-0 (27-25, 25-18, 25-19), Sichuan overcame Liaoning 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-23), Hebei defeated Hubei 3-1 (29-27, 27-25, 22-25, 25-21) and Shandong cruised through Fujian 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-20).
