25 DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS FOR NATIONAL FEDERATIONS ACROSS ALL CONTINENTAL CONFEDERATIONS APPROVED

All 222 National Federations can receive one of three types of support within the next application windows

The FIVB has confirmed that following the first application window, 25 development projects were approved across all five Continental Confederations with a total investment of 1 million USD.
The FIVB received 29 projects during the first application window of May-July 2021. These applications were reviewed with 25 of them approved: 11 for coaching support programmes for development of national teams, 13 volleyball equipment projects and 1 knowledge transfer project.

All 222 National Federations (NFs) from all five Continental Confederations can receive support 365 days a year for one of three development project support types: coach support for the development of national teams, volleyball equipment or knowledge transfer programmes.

National Federations can still apply for one of three application-based support types during the next application windows throughout 2021-2022.
Additionally, the FIVB has 29 ongoing coaching projects from 2020 that were suspended because of COVID-19 and are now resuming.

Talking about the development support, the FIVB President said:

“I am pleased to see the enthusiasm and commitment of our National Federations and their readiness to work together for the development of sport worldwide. The response we have received so far is very positive and we look forward to more strong applications being submitted to us in the upcoming application windows. We listened to our 222 National Federations and decided to open the Development platform 365 days a year to provide more opportunities to countries to apply for support.”

During the 2017-2020 Olympic cycle, the FIVB approved 408 projects from 180 National Federations from all five Continental Confederations, which totalled an investment of 7 million USD. Of these 408 projects, 158 were coach support projects, 213 were volleyball equipment projects and 37 were coach the coaches programmes.
