LEBANESE COACH LAKIS RECEIVES TWO CERTIFICATES OF ACCOMPLISHMENT

Bangkok, Thailand, May 15, 2019 – Lebanese coach Djohnny Lakis received two achievement certificates after eight months of following the International Coaching Enrichment Certificate Programe (ICECP) under the “National Volleyball Educational Programe” between August 15, 2018 and May 1, 2019.

A certificate with honors was presented by the University of Delaware and the U.S. Olympic Committee to Mr Lakis in recognition of his successful completion of the requirements for the International Coaching Enrichment Certificate Program from September 17, 2018 to May 3, 2019.

The second certificate was presented to the Lebanese coach by the FIVB Coaching Commission following his successful completion of the technical and practical conditions established by the International Coaching Commission.

The Lebanese Volleyball Federation recently informed AVC, the Asia’s volleyball-governing body, about Mr Lakis’ accomplishment, adding that the Lebanese coach was nominated by Lebanese Olympic Committee and Olympic Solidarity to follow the ICECP program which included four modules as follows.

  1. Three weeks of theoretical courses and one week practice on Volleyball for Men’s and Women’s Teams in Princeton University in New Jersey, the USA from September 28 to October 28, 2018.
  2. Online sessions (Sport Sciences, Olympic education, coaching management, group dynamics, professional preparation, athlete development, leadership theory and coaching methodology).
  3. Implementation of National Volleyball Education Programe with two courses in Lebanon from December 28 to 30 and February 8 to 10, with 44 candidates participating in each course.
  4. Presentation of the final project with written document in Lausanne, Switzerland from April 28 to May 2, 2019.

Mr Lakis also visited the FIVB Headquarters in Lausanne to view and discuss the project in the present of two represented sport development departments in the FIVB.

The last presentation was held in ANOC (Association of National Olympic Committees) in presence of all coaches, tutors, doctors and representatives from FIVB and Olympic Committee. After that, Lakis graduated between the elite and surpassed the FIVB Level 3 Coaches Course to receive the mentioned two certificates.
