AUSTRALIA’S LOUISE BAWDEN APPOINTED AS FIVB INSTRUCTOR

Canberra, Australia, January 29, 2020 – Australian Volleyball legend, Louise Bawden, has been appointed as an FIVB Instructor after her candidature was reviewed during the 2020 FIVB Technical and Coaching Commission.

Louise will work in collaboration with the FIVB in the delivery of courses and projects.

A triple Olympian, Louise has competed for Australia in both indoor and beach volleyball. At the 2000 Olympics, as a 19 year old, she represented Australia in indoor volleyball, where the team finished in ninth place.

At the 2012 Olympics, Louise represented Australia in beach volleyball with Becchara Palmer, while in 2016 she played with Taliqua Clancy and made it through to the quarter finals in Rio, finishing in fifth place.

In 2018, Louise announced her retirement from international beach volleyball competition at the age of 36 years.
