Mohamed Raneysh visits the FIVB Headquarters
FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F° today welcomed the President of the Volleyball Association of Maldives, Mohamed Raneysh, at the FIVB Headquarters to discuss the latest beach volleyball developments in the country.
The meeting follows the FIVB President’s visit to the Maldives last year where he held fruitful discussions with high-level government, including thePresident of the Republic of Maldives His Excellency Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, and sports officials on the development of beach volleyball in the country. One of the outcomes of this visit was the addition of the first-ever beach volleyball event in the Maldives to the inaugural Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour calendar.
During today’s meeting, the FIVB President and Volleyball Association of Maldives President discussed the progress that has subsequently been made in the development of beach volleyball.
FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F° said:
“It was a great pleasure to welcome Mr Mohamed Raneysh to our headquarters today to discuss how rapidly the sport is developing in the Maldives. We are continuing to work closely with the Volleyball Association of Maldives to help it achieve its ambitious and strong plans for beach volleyball.
“As I said last year, the Maldives and beach volleyball are the perfect fit. I have no doubt that, with the support of the FIVB’s team of professionals, the country’s first-ever international beach volleyball event will be a huge success!”
The President of the Volleyball Association of Maldives also had an opportunity to meet with the FIVB Technical and Development Department. Here, discussions were held on the ongoing FIVB Volleyball Empowerment project for 12-months of coaching support and the preparations of the Maldives men’s national team under Head Coach Vinicius Martins Giorni.
Meetings were also held with the FIVB Beach Volleyball Department and Volleyball World regarding the technical, operational and promotional aspects of the upcoming Beach Pro Tour event in the Maldives.
