LEVEL-1 FIVB COACHES COURSE UNDER WAY IN KUWAIT BETWEEN JUNE 5 AND 9

Bangkok, Thailand, June 9, 2022 – The Level-1 FIVB Coaches Course (in person) got under way at the Abdullah Al-Salem Leadership Development Centre in Kuwait, with Dr Shihab Aldin Ahmed from Oman, himself the FIVB International Volleyball Coach Instructor for 10 years, conducting the June 5-9 course theoretically and practically.

The five-day course is being led by Course Director Dr Shihab, Mr Bader Abdulrahman Alkous, Chairman of Technical and Development Committee from Kuwait Volleyball Association and Member of AVC Coaches Committee, and Dr Mohamed Salah El-Deen, National Volleyball Instructor.

A total of 29 men’s and women’s candidates taking part in the course, most of them are teachers and coaches from local schools, universities, clubs and national teams in Arabian and Asian countries such as Kuwait, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt and Iraq.

As the theoretical part is being held at Abdullah Al-Salem Leadership Development Centre, the training sessions will take place at Sheikh Saad Abdullah Al-Salim Al-Sabah Sports Complex. Both sessions will be conducted under close supervision of Dr Shihab, who has thrown his great efforts in achieving more than 60 international missions in the world.

In his welcome speech during the Opening Ceremony on June 5, Mr Bader Alkous said, “I would like to express my gratitude to FIVB Development Department for their great cooperation in conducting the Coaches Course and I also appreciated the FIVB’s efforts in developing coaches knowledge via Development Department Program. Also, I would like to thank Course Director Dr Shihab Aldin Ahmed, who has great experience in training and coaching fields in Kuwait since 2008.

“In addition, I would like to welcome the Course Director and participants and wished all of you the ultimate wealth of knowledge and success in learning from the course,” he added.

Dr Shihab said, “The Kuwait Volleyball Association is looking to increase the number of national qualified coaches and building up coaches knowledge through FIVB Coaches Courses and FIVB Development Program. I’m convinced that this course contributed a lot of updated knowledge for coaches to improve their coaches skills. Definitely, this kind of course should be in great and worthy way in improving coaches’ understanding of the sport while building on the fundamentals of volleyball in Arabian countries and Asian countries as well.”

After that, Course Director Dr Shihab Aldin Ahmed conveyed his great gratitude to FIVB, especially Technical and Development Committee and Kuwait Volleyball Association in jointly conducting the Coaches Course online and also cited about this course which will be included with practical sessions.

“This will present many modern training methods of skills, fundamental and core subjects in volleyball, coaching skills, physical conditioning, the advanced tactical plan of volleyball and updates on training information. Moreover, course lessons will also present the updated knowledge and theory of training principles which will help upgrade coaches knowledge in coaching field,” he added.
