Male, Maldives, March 15, 2019 – An FIVB Level I Coaches Course in Maldives, organised by the FIVB in conjunction with the AVC and the Volleyball Association of Maldives, is being held between March 15 and 19 at the Youth Center, with FIVB Course Director/Instructor Mr Jaksuwan Tocharoen conducting the five-day seminar attended by 32 well-qualified Maldivians.
Jointly presiding over the Friday’s opening ceremony were Mr. Abdulla Anees, Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, and Mr. Ahmed Latheef, Vice President of Maldives Olympic Committee. Also in attendance as guests of honour in the ceremony included Mr. Mohamed Shafy, General Secretary of the Volleyball Association of Maldives, Mr. Ahmed Adheel, the VAM Assistant Technical Director/Course Coordinator, and Mr. Ismail Rifau, the VAM Development Officer/Course Coordinator.
Mr. Abdulla Anees and Mr. Ahmed Latheef gave their short welcome speech to all participants and encouraged them to complete this course on positive note, citing that their efforts and progress in learning will help continue the growth and development of this beautiful sport in the country.
The Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment and the MOC Vice President also ensured that more supports will be given in the future for the development of Maldives volleyball.
This Coaches Course is a smart idea of VAM President Mr Mohamed Latheef, who has tried to make a successful planning for the future development throughout the country. He is convinced that a certified coach in each and every island of Maldives is “a must” for the betterment and sustainable development of Maldives volleyball.
This Coaches Course is fully funded by International Olympic Solidarity. The FIVB, the AVC as well as the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, the International Olympic Solidarity and the Maldives Olympic Committee also played crucial roles in helping the five-day course to be held in Maldives.
