POLICE MAINTAIN UNBEATEN RUN IN QATAR SENIOR MEN’S LEAGUE

Bangkok, Thailand, December 25, 2020 – Reigning champions Police remain invincible in the Qatar Senior Men’s Volleyball League following their straight-set win over Al-Wakrah at the QVA Hall on Wednesday, volleyball.qa reported.

The scintillating 25-12 25-19 25-19 win has stretched the Police’s invincibility to 10 consecutive matches in the League. Since their 3-0 blitz over same rivals Al-Wakrah in their opening encounter in the Qatar Senior Men’s League on November 7, Police did not lose a match to their respective rivals.

After a strong start in the tournament with 3-0 win against Al-Wakrah, Police went on their brilliant form to respectively beat Al-Sadd 3-0 on November 10, Al-Ahli 3-0 on November 13, Al-Arabi 3-0 on November 17, Al-Rayyan 3-1 on November 21, Al-Shamal 3-0 on November 25, Al-Khor 3-0 on November 30, Qatar 3-0 on December 2, Al-Gharafa 3-0 on December 5 and Al-Wakrah 3-0 on Wednesday, December 23 for an aggregate 30 points in 10 matches.

With this exceptional performance, Police came close to retaining their League title for two years in a row, while Al-Wakrah had 12 points from 10 matches including 4 wins.

Meanwhile, the second match on Wednesday saw Qatar SC pull off a comeback 3-1 (20-25 25-19 25-23 25-23) win against Al-Rayyan. Qatar now collect 20 points from 10 matches including 7 wins, the similar performance to Al-Ahli, which also had 20 points. Al-Rayyan bagged 19 points.

The tenth matches of each participating team were due to be completed on Thursday, with Al-Gharafa challenging Al-Arabi at 4:00pm local time, and Al-Ahli taking on Al-Khor at 6:30pm.
