QATARI PLAYERS AND OFFICIALS SWAB TESTED AHEAD OF RESUMPTION OF NATIONAL MEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP ON SEPT 23

Bangkok, Thailand, September 23,2020 – Participating teams and officials underwent COVID-19 nasal swab test to ensure that they are free from infection and ready for the resumption of the 2019-2020 3rd Qatar National Men’s Volleyball Championship from September 23 to 27.

Qatar Volleyball Association said in its official website volleyball.qa that club teams consisting Al-Arabi, Police, Al-Ahli, Al-Khor, Qatar, Al-Wakra, Al-Gharafa and Al-Rayyan on Tuesday underwent the necessary medical test, where swabs were taken from all players, coaches, technical and administrative teams and workers to ensure that they are free from infection with the emerging coronavirus at the medical headquarters designated for swabs in the Sport Women Hall in Aspire Zone.

As part of the precautionary measures followed in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Health and Aspetar Hospital, these measures are among the arrangements necessary for the return of players in preparation for the resumption of the championship for this current season 2019-2020, after it was suspended last March due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The championship will be held from September 23 to 27.
Al-Ahli will meet Al-Arabi at 4:30pm local time on September 23, while Al-Khor will meet the police at 7:00pm in the first group matches, and on Thursday, September 24 the second group matches will be contested in two matches, with Qatar taking on Al-Gharafa at 4:30pm.

The second match will be held at 7:00pm local time between Al-Rayyan and Al-Wakra. The tournament will be concluded on Sunday, September 27 with the holding of the final match, which brings together the winning teams of both groups fighting for the crown, and all matches will be held at the Qatar Volleyball Association Hall.
The Qatar Volleyball Association has made sure that all club employees, including players, technical and administrative and workers undergo medical examination and swab tests to find out a positive or negative sample that they have undergone in order to ensure the safety of everyone and the safe return to complete the competition.
