SIVOLAP AND YARZUTKIN CLOSING IN ON MORE WORLD TOUR GLORY IN QIDONG

Qidong, China, July 6, 2019 – Maxim Sivolap and Artem Yarzutkin are in line for another FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour medal after they reached the 2-Star Qidong Open semifinals on Saturday.

The tournament runs from July 4-7 and is one of nine World Tour events in China, with $50,000 on offer to the leading teams.

The Russian pair have already won four World Tour medals and they are one win away from another after they beat China’s Tingyang Yan and Jie Li 2-1 (18-21, 22-20, 15-13).

The win sets up a semifinal against Austria’s Christoph Dressler and Alexander Huber who defeated Lithuania’s Lukas Kazdailis and Arnas Rumsevicius 2-1 (16-21, 33-31, 15-13).

The other semifinal pits Austria’s Peter Eglseer and Florian Schnetzer against Thailand’s Surin Jongklang and Adisorn Khaolumtarn.

Eglseer and Schnetzer beat Slovenia’s Jan Pokeršnik and Danijel Pokeršnik 2-0 (21-17, 21-12), while Jongklang and Khaolumtarn defeated China’s Likejiang Ha and Jiaxin Wu 2-0 (21-19, 21.15).
