TVA, KASETSART INK PARTNERSHIP DEAL TO SET UP VOLLEYBALL DEVELOPMENT CENTER AND CREATE DEVELOPMENT PATHWAY FOR ALL

Bangkok, Thailand, January 24, 2024 – A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Thailand Volleyball Association and Kasetsart University to mark the first step toward building successful cooperation between the Thai volleyball-governing body and one of the top public universities in Bangkok in attempts of developing volleyball for all.

Both parties had agreed to terms and conditions and then signed a 5-year partnership on volleyball skills development and setting up a Volleyball Development Center within the university to actively promote and develop volleyball for local grass-roots level, higher education and potential youngsters ready to make national youth and national junior teams in the not-too-distant future.

Dr Chongrak Wachrinrat, President of Kasetsart University, and TVA President Mr Somporn Chaibangyang jointly presided over the signing ceremony at Kampol Adulwit Conference Room on the 2nd floor of the Golden Jubilee Administration and Information Center Building of Kasetsart University in Bangkok.

 

Also attending the ceremony on Wednesday were Assoc Prof Pattamavadi Lehmongkol, Dean of Faculty of Education, TVA Vice President (Technical) Mr Kiattipong Radchatagriengkai, himself AVC Secretary General, TVA Honorary President and Secretary General Mr Shanrit Wongprasert, himself current AVC Executive Director, TVA Secretary General Mr Nattapong Kesaphan, TVA Deputy Secretary General Mr Supoj Chaibangyang, Mr Park Ki-Won from Korea, head coach of Thailand men’s national volleyball team, Ms Adriana Bento Buczmiejuk from Brazil, head coach of Thailand beach volleyball team, as well as Thailand men’s and women’s team players preparing for this year’s Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games on home soil.    

 

The MoU typically establishes a framework and a huge range of issues related to volleyball skills development and promotion of the sport for students, undergraduates and those interested. In addition, it will also cover setting up of the Volleyball Development Center in the university to serve those at the grassroots, higher edition, national youth and national junior players apart from curriculum making for skills development of coaches, referees, organisers, making use of sports administration, sports science and technology for volleyball and supporting the research for volleyball development to help strengthen Thailand volleyball in future major competitions.
