URMIA OVERTAKE SEPAHAN AS SECOND PLACE IN IRAN MEN’S SUPER LEAGUE

Tehran, Iran, November 27, 2020 – Urmia Shahrdari pulled off a scintillating straight-set win over Gonbad Shahrdari to move to the second place of the Iran Men’s Premier League, iranvolleyball.com reported.

The week 12 encounters of the highly-anticipated League were held on Friday with six matches at Volleyball Federation Hall and Volleyball House of Tehran.

One of the most important matches was the match between Urmia Shahrdari and Gonbad Shahrdari which saw the former power past the latter in comfortable straight sets 25-13 25-17 25-22. The crucial win helped Urmia surge ahead Sepahan to the second place in the overall standing.

Haraz Labaniat also came up with improved performance. With coach Behrouz Ataei at the helm, the in-form side lived up to the coach’s expectation to move up to the fifth position following a stunning 25-21 25-23 25-20 win against Varamin Shahrdari.

Other teams claiming wins in week 12 consisted of Qazvin Shahrdari, Urmia Azarbatri, Yazd Shahdab and Tehran Saipa.
