Tehran, Iran, January 13, 2021 – Babol Sarvghamatan made a clean sweep in the three-day classification round to finish 5th place in the Iranian Women’s Super Volleyball League, iranvolleyball.com reported.
Four teams which missed the cut for the home-and-away matches had contested the classification round to determine their final rankings in the League.
Exson and Babol Sarvghamatan from Pool A and Fars Setaregan and Islamshahr Khojasteh from Pool B strutted their stuff in the single round-robin playoffs.
After three days in the playoffs, Babol Sarvghamatan proved the strongest team to make a clean sweep of three wins to bag 9 points, while Exson came in second place with 5 points from 2 wins against one loss. Islamshahr Khojasteh finished third with 4 points from one win against 2 losses, with winless Fars Setaregan in fourth position.
Babol Sarvghamatan finished 5th place in the Iranian Women’s Super League this season, while Exson, Islamshahr Khojasteh and Fars Setaregan ended in respective 6th, 7th and 8th positions.
The top four teams of the standings – Saipa, Zob Ahan, Paykan and Qazvin – will next renew their rivalries in the home round on Saturday, January 16 and continue their challenge in the away round on January 28 to determine their final standings.
