BOTTOM-PLACED URMIA AZARBATRI STEAL THE SHOW IN IRAN MEN’S SUPER LEAGUE WEEK 21

Tehran, Iran, January 13, 2021 – Urmia Azarbatri, the team at bottom of the standings, hogged the limelight in Week 21 after stunning leaders Amol Haraz Labaniat with a fantastic comeback 3-2 win in the Iran Men’s Super Volleyball League, iranvolleyball.com reported.

Six matches were held in Week 21 at two halls – Volleyball Federation Hall and Volleyball House of Tehran, with Yazd Shahdab, Urmia Azarbatri, Varamin Shahrdari, Sepahan Foulad, Urmia Shahrdari, and Tehran Saipa pulling out impressive wins. Tehran Paykan and Ramsar Hoursan rested this week.

Urmia Azarbatri recorded their second win in the League after some chains of consecutive losses. However, the stunning victory made no change in Urmia Azarbatri’s position as they remained at the bottom of the standings, but pulled Amol Haraz Labaniat down from the top to the third place.

After Week 21, Sepahan Foulad surged to the top of the standings, while Urmia Shahrdari and Amol Haraz Labaniat came in second and third places respectively.

The preliminary matches in Week 22 will take place on Wednesday, January 20, at both halls.
