URMIA SHAHRDARI IN POLE POSITION AFTER WEEK 18 IN IRAN MEN’S PREMIER LEAGUE

Tehran, Iran, January 3, 2021 – Urmia Shahrdari maintained commanding lead following their blistering win after Week 18 in the Iran Men’s Premier League, iranvolleyball.com reported on Sunday.

Six matches were held in Week 18 at Volleyball Federation Hall and Volleyball House of Tehran Hall, with Sirjan Foulad, Sepahan Foulad, Urmia Shahrdari, Tehran Saipa, Amol Haraz Labaniat and Ramsar Hoursan registering crucial wins.

Urmia Shahrdari still proved to be a strong team to be reckoned with in the League as the in-form side pulled off a scintillating straight-set 25-23 25-17 25-22 win against Urmia Azarbatri to stay atop the standings of the Iran Men’s Premier League.

Sirjan Foulad, winners of the mid-season campaign, had been relegated from the third to the fourth place despite an exceptional 25-21 25-15 25-20 win against Qazvin Shahrdari.

Yazd Shahdab and Varamin Shahrdari were the only two teams to rest in Week 18, the third week of the away round.

The Week 19 preliminary matches will be held on Saturday, January 9, at Volleyball Federation Hall and Volleyball House of Tehran Hall.

Urmia Shahrdari, Sepahan Foulad and Amol Haraz Labaniat made a top-three finish in the standings after Week 18.
