ZHU TING HEADS CONSTELLATION OF STARS IN WOMEN’S CLUB WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Lausanne, Switzerland, November 7, 2019 – Rosters of the eight participating teams have been confirmed ahead of the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship, next month in China.

Heading the constellation of superstars in the Club World Championship is Zhu Ting, who has returned home to China this year after three seasons in Turkey and will be leading Tianjin Bohai Bank Volleyball Club in a bid to earn her third straight individual MVP award in the competition.

The 24-year-old outside hitter was named Most Valuable Player in the 2017 and 2018 editions of the Club World Championship as she led VakifBank Istanbul to back-to-back titles. Most recently she was selected as MVP of the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Cup for her role in leading China to the title.

Tijana Boskovic, the MVP of the 2016 edition when she led Eczacibasi VitrA Istanbul to the world club title of that year will also be amongst this season’s stars.

The 22-year-old Serbian opposite, who was also MVP in the latest FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship last year and this year’s European Championship, is now in her fifth season with Eczacibasi.

The 2019 Club World Championship runs from December 3 to 8 at the Olympic Sports Centre of Shaoxing. In addition to Tianjin Bohai Bank and Eczacibasi, the competition also features China’s Guangdong Evergrande Volleyball Club, Italy’s Imoco Volley Conegliano and Igor Gorgonzola Novara, Brazil’s Itambe Minas and Dentil Praia Clube, plus VakifBank.
